Lions' Dan Campbell Shuts Down the Sam LaPorta Questions: 'This Kid Is Locked In'

Lions fans, you could feel this one coming. Two days before a big home division game, Dan Campbell had heard enough.

**Our Take:** Good. Campbell defended his tight end, said his piece, and walked off. That's a coach protecting the room. Contract talk can wait, and the only thing that matters this week is Sunday.

Per Syracuse.com, Campbell stood behind Sam LaPorta on Friday. "I know Sam. We all know Sam," he said. "We're not going to let this be a distraction... This kid is locked in."

LaPorta's contract future has been the talk of the week, and he made his own view clear: "I want to play for this team," per Newsweek.

When the questions kept coming, Campbell ended it. "I'm not answering anything," he said. "Now it's becoming one because you keep asking these things." Then he left the podium, and that was the end of Friday's press conference.

LaPorta has 27 catches for 316 yards and three touchdowns through five games.

**What to watch:** LaPorta's targets on Sunday at Ford Field. The best way to end this story is a big day.
