Lions vs. Packers Preview: Detroit Hosts Green Bay at Ford Field (4:25 PM ET, FOX)
The Detroit Lions (3-2) host the Green Bay Packers (4-2) today at Ford Field. Kickoff is 4:25 PM ET on FOX. ESPN's DraftKings line has Detroit favored by 3.5, with a total of 55.5, the highest on the board.
Our Take: This is the game of the week in the NFC North, and Ford Field will be loud. A 55.5 total says points are coming, and nobody in this division scores like Detroit. Jahmyr Gibbs has been the best back in football this season. If the Lions run it down Green Bay's throat early, they take control of this division race today.
UPDATE (Sunday, Oct. 25, pregame): S Brian Branch and C Cade Mays are good to go. The Lions activated Branch from the PUP list and Mays from injured reserve on Saturday, and both had their questionable tags removed. Branch plays his first game since tearing his Achilles last December, and Mays makes his first start at center. S Kerby Joseph (knee) is listed out on ESPN's injury page.
WHO'S OUT: S Brian Branch and C Cade Mays were activated Saturday and have no injury designation. S Kerby Joseph (knee) is out, per ESPN. Green Bay ruled out LB Zaire Franklin (shin). G Aaron Banks (knee, toe), DT Jordon Riley (Achilles), WR Bo Melton (back) and CB Benjamin St-Juste (hamstring) are questionable.
KEYS TO THE GAME:
1. Feed Gibbs. He has 504 rushing yards and 7 TDs, per ESPN.
2. Jared Goff in rhythm. He has 1,485 yards and 12 TDs, and Amon-Ra St. Brown (372 yards, 5 TDs) is his go-to.
3. Slow down Jordan Love (1,684 yards, 11 TDs) and Christian Watson (538 yards, 6 TDs). That's the big-play threat.
4. Get home on Love. DJ Wonnum leads Detroit with 5 sacks.
