Lions vs. Vikings Preview: Detroit Hosts Unbeaten Minnesota at Ford Field (1 PM ET, FOX)
The Detroit Lions (4-2) host the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings (6-0) today at Ford Field. Kickoff is 1:00 PM ET on FOX. ESPN's line has Detroit favored by 3, with a total of 46.5.
Our Take: Minnesota walks in perfect, and Detroit is still the favorite. That tells you how the oddsmakers see this one. Jared Goff has 1,788 yards and 14 touchdowns, Jahmyr Gibbs has 620 rushing yards and 7 scores, and Ford Field will be loud for a division game. Lions hand the Vikings their first loss today.
WHO'S OUT: Detroit: Kerby Joseph is out, McCreary is questionable, and Pacheco, Bartch and Devin White are on IR. Minnesota: Jay Ward is questionable; Donovan Jackson, Josh Oliver, Samac and Batty are on IR.
KEYS TO THE GAME:
- Ride Gibbs. 620 yards and 7 touchdowns. Run it early and keep Kyler Murray on the sideline.
- St. Brown on third down. Amon-Ra has 46 catches for 525 yards and 5 scores. He is the chain-mover.
- Contain Jefferson. Justin Jefferson has 23 catches for 302 yards. With Joseph out, the secondary needs help over the top.
- Protect Goff from Dallas Turner. Turner has 6 sacks. Detroit's tackles have to win that matchup.
- Make Murray uncomfortable. Wonnum has 5 sacks and Jack Campbell has 54 tackles. Murray has 2 picks in limited work.
